For those of you who have visited this particular blog in the past, it is no secret that I will shortly be packing up the family and moving out west. I’m opening a new pizza place on Commercial Drive that I hope each and every one of you will have a chance to frequent consistently in the near future.
Aside from the business side of the move, I am most excited about living in a city with a reliable music scene. I have spent a lot of time pondering all of the shows I will be seeing once I arrive in Vancouver…that excited me. I was just cutting my hair earlier while listening to a HUMANS album and realized that I have barely been able to scratch the surface on the local bands I will also be able to see on a nightly basis at some of the smaller venues around the city. With the help of Vancouver super-bloggers (Winnie Cooper, Chipped Hip, Music vs Misery, and a few others that are slipping my mind), I like to think that I am obtaining knowledge on a daily basis but I will also need some help along the way to discover some new music. Here is a little playlist featuring some west coast-based bands I am tracking these days…let me know if I am missing anything and stay tuned for spotlights in my Local Product posts.
